Padlock icons after restore.
Hello. After restoring a couple of files, ALL the Desktop file and folder icons have padlocks on them. It seems that backup4all changed some file/folder attributes for the duration of restore but forgot to undo the change.
Windows 7
BAckup4All Professional 4.6
How do I get rid of the padlocks?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Please compare the restored files attributes with the source files attributes. What is different?

I don't see any difference.
Please understand that I restored only 4 files. However ALL (1000's of them) files, folders and subfolders on my Desktop have padlocks on them.

Hi,
Do you have the same problem if you restore the files to another location?

No, I haven't seen this problem before. Also, I just tried to reproduce the problem but everything went fine.
Could this be because of an aborted restore? On the first attempt to restore the files I forgot to deselect some directories and stopped the restore operation. I immediately run the restore again and noticed the padlocks all over the desktop. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I cannot reproduce the problem here.

Re: Padlock icons after restore.
Could you ask the developers if the program does any kind of file locking or ownership changes just before starting the restore operation?

Re: Padlock icons after restore.
Hi,
No, it doesn't make such changes. If the same file name exists, it will be overwritten (if possible, after asking the user), otherwise that file will be skipped.

Re: Padlock icons after restore.
So you are saying that Backup4All doesn't have anything to do with the padlocks?

Hi,
That is correct. It seems there is something else causing the problem.
