Incremental Backup Not Adding New Files
I'm noticing unexpected backup behavior over the past month or so. Here is the scenario.
Backup4all version 5.5 Build 850
Incremental backup job sourced from a local hard drive. There are around 22 increments since the original full backup.
I'm looking at one folder in particular where file versions are frequently saved as separate files, backed up, and then deleted. However, the last two runs of the job added only one new file from this folder, and completely failed to backup any modified files.
I am, at the moment, running a Full backup to determine if that will resolve the problem.
Are there any known causes of such a problem? Is there any reason to believe upgrading Backup4all would resolve this?

Hi,
Please uncheck the "Smart file scanning mode" option from Backup Properties->Advanced page.
See if you still have the problem.

Thank you for that idea. I will try it on future backups.
The Full backup did run normally, so I don't have to worry so much for now.

What does Smart file scanning more do exactly? How does that affect backups?

Hi,
That option is used to get a faster list of modified files using the NTFS journal from Windows.
If it's disabled, the normal scanning process for all sources will be used.
