Restore job completes, no files restored
Hi,
I'm running my restore tests and restores with the following settings:
[x] Choose another location
[x] Do not create drive letter folder
[x] Choose files and restore the latest version
In the next screen I select the file to be restored. The job starts and completes, but nothing is restored. Here are the last couple of lines from the log file:
[05/04/2023 21:05:51] Restore initialized
[05/04/2023 21:05:52] Opening file ":memory:"
[05/04/2023 21:05:53] Closing file ":memory:"
Restored 0 file(s) and 0 folder(s)
Restore operation finished in 4 second(s) at 05/04/2023 21:05:53 with 0 errors
Running the same restore with "Do not create drive letter folder" unchecked creates the directory hierarchy, but no files are restored.
Any ideas on why this is happening?
Thank you.
Tolga

Re: Restore job completes, no files restored
Hi,
Please make sure you also select the "Restore deleted and excluded files" option from the Restore Wizard.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Hi Adrian,
Thank you, that worked. To be honest I was not expecting such an option.

Tolga

Re: Restore job completes, no files restored
Hi,
If those files were deleted in the past from sources, they are marked as "deleted" in catalog.
When restoring a backup, users will need the actual existing files in sources last time. That is why the "deleted" files are not restored by default, but only if you want them.
