Out of memory

Post by lastdruid »

Hi guys,

I've recently bought Backup4all product and tried to do my first backup to AWS S3 today.
I've got Out of memory error after 50 min of running.
The forum search didn't help because I only tried to backup about 125K files, the catalogue size was 27Mb, and the product now is a 64bit application.
I have 32Gb RAM, but I don't think it can be an issue.
Please advise what can I do to make a back up. I can create 10 smaller backup profiles, but it seems to be ridicules that a modern backup software cannot handle 100K of files. I understand that a list of files is located in RAM, but if it is a long list, it should be a mechanism to partially read, execute and move to the next bulk of items.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Hi,

Backup4all can handle large backup jobs with many files.
Please open Backup Properties->Advanced page.
Uncheck the “Store temporary catalog data in memory” option and press Save.
Then run again the backup.

If you still have the problem, send us the last backup log file to see what the problem is, to support[at]backup4all[dot]com.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
