FTP Backup of specific file names
Hi,
B4A changes my filenames during a mirror backup on a FTP location : "à" becomes "Ã".
How can I avoid this change ?
Thanks,
Piwail.

Re: FTP Backup of specific file names
Hi,
You cannot avoid that. If a similar file/folder name with the same character is found before (eg: Test), all files with "test" will be backed up as "Test".

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
Re: FTP Backup of specific file names
thanks for your quick reply, but I think my question was not that clear.
On my computer, I have a folder named "voilà" but B4A creates a folder with this name "voilÃ" during the backup on a FTP location.
Do you say that this change is unvoidable ?
thanks

Hi,
You used different accents, or is that how it is? one for lowercase and the other for uppercase?
I am not talking about accents but I am talking about the a/A character in lowercase/uppercase. That cannot be avoid.

Re: FTP Backup of specific file names
This is all about different accent, "à" becomes "Ã" with a different accent. The problem is not about lower/upper case but is why B4A changes the accent of letter.
Hope this is better explained.

Re: FTP Backup of specific file names
Hi,
Please send us the backup catalog (bkc file) for that job to support[at]backup4all[dot]com
To find it, go to View->Open Folder->Catalog folder.
Put the file into a zip archive.

Re: FTP Backup of specific file names
For information to all forum readers, we found the solution.
The problem came from FileZilla that was not in UTF-8 mode. B4A does not change accents of letters during FTP uploads.
Regards.
