Backup4All Pro and Symbolic Links

Post by Hightray »

I extensively use symbolic links as I have a SSD drive as my system drive and then software installed on a D: drive that is a conventional spinning drive. I use symbolic links to map to files on the spinner drive where speed is not important to me while I installed software where I want the speed onto the SSD.

When creating a backup job, the files that are symbolic links do not show up in the tree that you use to select the files you want to back up.

Is there a way to get the backup software to follow these symbolic links so I can perform a backup?

Thanks.

Hi,

Backup4all won't follow the symbolic links. In such cases, that could create a recursive parsing of the files.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
