AES encryption

Post by wecare »

I wanted to know about the encryption with the Backup4all. We currently have version 3.0 and we are told by our software support that this version is not HIPAA compliant for encryption. I did see that you just came out with version 5.0 Professional that also has the AES encryption. Is this update HIPAA compliant?

Great in regards to HIPAA compliance, but now my question is in regards to the AES encryption. Does Backup4all version 5 professional encrypt the data to the external hard drive? If yes, at what level? Does the encryption render the data unreadable? Is there a key code for access?

Hi,

You can use AES encryption with 128/196/256 bits. The encryption is made locally and the files are sent encrypted to destination. You can access the data only using the password you set for encryption.
