Scheduler

Post by peckville »

The built in scheduler does not start.
I tried to go with Windows Scheduler. Backup4all asks for a user name and password to use Windwos Scheduler.
I do NOT use a password, just a user name.
BAckup4all will not permit me to use Windows Scheduler without a password.
I do NOT want to use a password.
Do I need to manually backup now?

Hi,

Do you get any error message when setting up the scheduler in Backup4all?
Is there any user logged on when the scheduled task starts?

I have found the Windows Task Scheduler will NOT work wothout a password.

The only way I could get it to work was to create a log-in password.

You could create a different log-in with a password, and set your back-up tasks to use those credentials in Windows Task Scheduler. ;)

Hi,

If you want to run the scheduled task when no user is logged on, you need to use the Windows Scheduler from Backup4all. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, running a scheduled task without a password is considered by Microsoft a security risk that is why it won't work.
If your scheduled tasks will be executed when a user is logged on, you can use the Built-in scheduler which does not require a password.
