Please explain what you mean by "Please put this file and all the Backup4all folder into the exceptions list of the antivirus." what does the full path to those files look like?

Hi,

The full path looks like this: "c:\Program Files (x86)\Softland\Backup4all 5\"

I am using Kaspersky and when I view the firewall SoftLand is listed with Permission checked. These files are also listed
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bbackup.exe all of these are listed as trusted. What more do you need?
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bcleanup.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\btray.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bstatistics.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bsrvctrl.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bschedstarter.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\brestore.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bservice.exe
c:\program files (x86)\softland\backup4all 5\bcleanup.exe

Hi,

Can you give me access to your computer using TeamViewer?

I turned off the firewall and antivirus and the software terminates with the message Do you want to restart the IPC server. I click Yes and the program gets the message again, over and over, etc. Eventually when I click No, Backup4all terminates.

Yes, contact me when you are ready to access my PC.

:( I seem to have hit the same problem with two licences (a slightly different one for the third which I will post separately.

Both m/c are WinXP. Set to run a scheduled backup once a day from an admin account while the users are signed in on a limited account - but it doesn't happen.

Message in log says something about not being able to connect to pipe.

But also discovered today that it took two or three attempts to get the app started from the tray icon (from the admin account) - message was "There was an error while trying to connect to the IPC server" with the same message about pipes in the log.

This is a real killer for us as backups are supposed to be unattended so as not to worry the users about having to remember.
