Zip error: Not enough room to write archive - The specified network name is no longer available

Post by JamieCAM »

Hi Support,

We are having failures with a network backup using Backup4All Professional 4.8
The backup in question is to backup from Server 2003 R2 to a Windows 7 PC
It seems to be inconsistent, we had a few failures, then it ran fine for 4 nights and now we've had another failure, the error part of the log is below:

[20/11/2013 23:00:59] Archiving files to Mick.1_D.zip
[20/11/2013 23:14:51] Error: Backup aborted. Reason:
Cannot add file "D:\DATA\Office\JOES\export\saved1\2011032409430696881.eml" to "\\PC-Name\d$\backup\Network Backup\Mick.1_D.zip".
Zip error: Not enough room to write archive (\\PC-Name\d$\backup\Network Backup\Mick.1_D.zip). The specified network name is no longer available
Backup aborted at 20/11/2013 23:14:52 with 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)

The destination disk has plenty of space available, as do the disks on the source machine. I have disabled the NICs power management setting to allow the network card to turn the device off to save power in case that was happening.

Any other advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Hi,

Please open Backup Properties->Compression.
Select the "Always use temporary folder to create zip files" option.
Press Save and run again the backup.
Do you still have the problem?
