Warning Message CRC
Hi.
I keep getting this warning message for several files that are in use during backup:
Warning: CRC test failed for file "xxxxxxxx". CRC stored in catalog is 0, destination CRC is 71B6CA27
The file gets backed up correctly, I don't know why these warnings appear.
I've got these flags active:
- Test after backup
- Remove from catalog all files with errors
Should I change something?

Hi,
Please try to run a repair after the backup execution. Will that finish without warnings?

Re: Warning Message CRC
After a backup, I did a full repair (not just catalogs) and it showed some errors.
Backup ended with 3 warnings.
Repair ended with 16 errors (probably the sum of every warning that has happened).
Log says:
Error: CRC test failed for file "xxxxx". CRC stored in catalog is 0, destination CRC is 928362A4
It may be that it does not use VSS to test files, so it cannot calculate right CRC for open files and writes 0 on the catalog, or something like that.
I say this because every file with warnings is a database file or an open excel file

Hi,
Is the VSS service working properly on that computer?
Do you get any VSS warnings in log?
Do you have the same problem if the files are not in use during the backup?

VSS is working (every file gets backed up correctly)
I see no VSS warnings in logfile
Today I've backed up 45 files and I had 4 warnings. So files that are not in use don't have this problem.

Hi,
Can you manually copy those 4 files from source to another location using Windows Explorer while they are in use?

Re: Warning Message CRC
Right after the backup I can copy those files without problems
