Wakeup and run a JOB issue win11

Post by vlsi99 »

I have setup a job to run a backup and schedule to wakeup the PC and run the task. In B4ALL scheduler window under "general" I have the options to run when user is logged on or not.

My Win11 setup request a PIN when the PC wakes up (this tell me the user is not logged on anymore) . So when the B4ALL job wakes up the PC , I need to use the option to run whether the user is logged on or not. However , it forces to select a user and a password. Since My PC not longer uses a password what do I put in the password field?

To summarize, I am trying a setup a job that wakes up the PC and runs the back job automatically in WIN11.

thank you

Hi,

In this case, please use the password for your email that you used to create your account on that computer.
We use Windows Task Scheduler in Backup4all. The same password is asked by Windows if you want to create a new scheduled task in Control Panel.

One more question when I put my MS password and I saved the settings in the scheduler and then I go back in to check the general tab to see the log on settings, it defaults back to run only if user is logged on. The run whether the user is logged on or not doesn't stick.

Then, I run a test and it looks like the PC waked up and the job started. However, I don't understand why the setting goes back to run only when user is logged on.

thanks

My test described above only works if the job runs within a few hours from the time I set the WIN11 password. Other jobs that run once a week do not run after entering the WIN11 password.
As I mentioned above, the option to run if the user is logged on or not does not stick (meaning the checkmark is unchecked after I save the settings in the scheduler).

I will appreciate if you can give me some feedback on this.

thank you

Hi,

We use in Backup4all the Windows Scheduler.
To change that setting, please try to open Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Task Scheduler.
Edit the option to run the task whether the user is logged on or not. Does it works?
