Transfer Backup Job to New Server
We do incremental nightly backups of 4 networked PCs plus some local files on our existing server. Now need to run the same backup on a newer server and want to retain all the old incremental history.
I understand I can import the existing .bkc file into B4A on the new server, networked files should be fine as they are defined in the backup job with UNC naming but the local files on the old sever are defined as C:\data but will now need to be \\oldsever\c\data (they are staying on the old sever and still need to be backed up)
Is there anyway I can edit the job to retain all the old c:\data records but now refer to them as \\oldserver\c\data to allow incremental history to be retained without starting over ?

Re: Transfer Backup Job to New Server
Hi,
If you change the source path, those files will be backed up again.
If you change the destination path, you need to reopen the backup catalog from the new path in order to update the destination path.

Re: Transfer Backup Job to New Server
Thanks, would changing the source path of C:\data to \\oldserver\c\data trigger a full backup ?

Hi,
Changing the source path will cause the files to be backed up again.
