Testing Amazon S3 - Winsock error

Post by dennis48755 »

Hi,

I am testing using Amazon S3 with the Backup4all 5 Pro trial under Windows 7 64 bit.

On the Amazon S3 settings screen, when I click "Test Amazon Connection" I receive an error...
Amazon S3 configuration test failed
Other Winsock error (75784)(75784).

I have tested my Amazon S3 setup using Webdrive, and it worked fine.

In case of a conflict, I removed Webdrive from my system (and rebooted) and I still get the above Winsock error with Backup4all.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Dennis

As a side note, the Amazon S3 connection test works with the NovaBackup Pro trial, which I am also evaluating.

Hi,

Do you have the latest version of Backup4all 5.0.396?
If not, please download it from our website and try again.

Hi,

It seems the Amazon SSL certificate could not be verified in your case, that is the error message about.
We will change the behavior in the next release in order to give you the option to run the backup even if the SSL certificate of Amazon could not be verified.

Same problem with us just different socket error number.
Can you guys really help us to fix this.
We really need it working as paid for the software because of this feature and now its not working.

How can we enable the SSL on our Amazon S3 account so it can work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi,

Did you tried with build 414?

I just tried build 414 and continue to get the Winsock error (75784)(75784). Which is the same error as I originally reported.

Update: If I run the actual backup, instead of just testing the Amazon S3 connection, the log posts...
Backup aborted. Reason:
Cannot connect to server.
Other Winsock error (75777)
Next scheduled backup: Not scheduled
Backup aborted at 4/17/2014 11:34:09 AM with 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)

I'm having the same problem mentioned above, whenever I click "test" in the "Save Backup to Amazon S3" tab to get back the Winsock error (75784)'m with build 414. Any solution to the problem?

Hi,

A new build will be released these days including a fix for that.
