Suggestions for a good backup solution
We switched from Backup Exec to HP Data Protector and it has been like out of the frying pan into the fire experience. HP Data Protector is the worst backup software around. Not only is its regular agent vulnerable to attack its ECC is totally unstable.
We are over 95% virtual. Majority of the servers are MS 2008 r2 and 2012 R2 while a few are Linux (centOS). We need a software that will enable us to backup to the disk and then help us copy the weekly backups to a tape library.
I am not in favor of snapshoting a VM since trying to backup the VMs that way with Backup Exec and Data Protector has gone horribly wrong in the past.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Suggestions for a good backup solution
Hi,
Backup4all was not designed for system backups but for data files backups only.
Also Backup4all does not support tape drives.
It can be installed on MS Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 and will back up data to the selected destination.
If you have any other questions, please contact us.
