Strategy for backing up appdata

Post by geomouchet »

I have Windows 8, but I think the same questions applies for earlier Windows versions. There seems to be a lot of junk in appdata and some important things, like my Outlook .pst file and browser favorites. I have a total of 26 GB in my case. What's the best strategy for backing up only the useful data files and omitting things like temporary files and perhaps most program settings?

Hi,

By default, in Backup4all there are some filters to exclude temporary files and other useless files.
After you select the source files, you can manually uncheck specific files/folders that you consider not necessarily to be backed up.
