Run Group on demand

Post by sachqwe »

Is it possible to run a group backup on demand where the user selects an icon on their desktop and does nothing else?

Something like execute backup4all groupA now, prefeably as a command line entry or batch file.

Hi,

Yes, you can do that.
Please follow these steps:
1. Open Backup4all
2. Go to View menu->View jobs as->Tree
3. Right click the backup group you want to run and select "Create shortcut"
4. In the Execute section, select "Command line application"
5. Press OK to save the shortcut.

Thanks for the info.

If the group is being run as a short cut command and the backup jobs are to be run immediately, how should the jobs within the group be set up for "executed" and "scheduled"?

Now that I have run a test today of a group running as a command, my question is irrelevant; so, please ignore.

Thanks'
Howard
