Replace External hard drive with a different drive
What is the procedure for replacing the External hard drive assigned to a backup job with a new larger external hard drive?
I want to keep all of the backup copies, essentially move the data from the old drive to the new drive.
Thanks Ahead of time for your help...
Take Care,
Richard

Re: Replace External hard drive with a different drive
Hi,
If you can move all data from the old drive to the new drive, then assign the same drive letter to the new drive, in this case, the backup will work with no other necessarily changes in Backup4all.
If you cannot manually assign another drive letter, just move the backup files and the catalog from the old drive to the new drive. After that, delete the backup job from Backup4all, then open the .bkc catalog file from the new drive. You will be asked if you want to change the destination to the new drive. Select yes and the backup job will be recreated in Backup4all.
