Plug-n-Backup WIndows 7

Post by Nobby »

Hi,

I'd like to use the Plug-n-Backup feature on Windows 7. However it seems to rely on autoplay running the autorun.inf on the USB drive, which is disabled in Windows 7 as far as I can tell. Your Howto ends with Vista, and there's no mention of Windows 7. Is it possible to get Plug-n-backup to work with Windows 7?

Thanks,
Nobby

I'm sorry, that was a very poor post, I didn't mention what I was using! I'm using the latest Portable Edition version downloaded today 4.4 build 218 unregistered in trial mode. on Windows 7 64 bit. I've configured a backup and enabled Plug abd Backup support in Options, which has created the autorun.inf files in the root of my USB drive.

Hi,

You cannot use that feature on Windows7 as they blocked all USB autorun files.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
