Merge Backups?

Post by pcready.cl »

Backup4all PRO work in its latest version.

Can anyone explain me please which means the merger of backups?

I put a historical 7 days, have the following backups in remote folder:

1_FULL (01/07/2016)
4_INCREMENTAL (01/10/2016)
5_INCREMENTAL (11/01/2016)
6_INCREMENTAL (01/12/2016)
7_INCREMENTAL (01-13-2016)
8_INCREMENTAL (01-14-2016)
9_INCREMENTAL (01-15-2016)

I do not understand what has happened with data on 8, 9 and 10. If the option of merging active backups, these data should be merged to something, at least in the log says, but not where they are. As I understand the backing of those days has to be in the "4_INCREMENTAL (10/01/2016)" container.

Work with software that changes daily files in a folder, the files maintain records, in this case as I understand if I have files will be overwritten 09.01.2016 day with the day 10/01/2016 in the container "4_INCREMENTAL (01-10-2016) ".

To retrieve entire days in the historical past 7 days would have to disable the function, and so could recover eg "4_INCREMENTAL (10/01/2016)". only with files on 10 and not older files?

Thank you!

Hi,

When you run the backup and the limit with merge is applied, the oldest incremental and the new incremental will be merged.
Backup version 4 and 10 will be merged, keeping only the latest version of each file (from these two archives).
