initial full backup

Post by kotara »

Unable to find anything about this in the forum, apologies if this is a repeat.

Looking at setting up a FTP backup server for group of friends and family, so have been testing the backup4all pro version. Working a treat in a test environment.

The problem we have is that several of the group have excessive amounts of (currently un-backed-up) data...we're talking hundreds of GB of photos. Is there any way to perform an initial full 'site' backup, manually transfer this by external drive to the FTP server, and then switch to differential/incremental going forward?

Not really enthralled at the prospect of transferring that initial volume of data with upload speeds of 400kbps.....you're getting on for 4 months if you add all of the source folders in at the outset !!

Other than this issue the software does exactly what we are looking at....

Thanks

K.
