How to get weekly Full and daily Differential backups?
I have a large backup device (3TB) and a relatively small source (30GB). I want to do a Full backup on the first of each month, and Differential the rest of the days. I want to keep the Full backups essentially forever (about 100 months before the backup store overflows), but delete the Differentials every Sunday. I don't understand how to do this: should I do the Differentials with one backup job that has a monthly Delete, and the Monthly Full backups with another backup job with a save space limitation of 80 backups? Any help?
Thanks

Re: How to get weekly Full and daily Differential backups?
Hi,
Please follow these steps:
1. Create a differential backup job.
2. Go to Backup Properties->Scheduler and add a scheduler to run the backup daily.
3. Add another scheduler to run a Full backup type monthly on the 1st day of the month.
4. Add another scheduler to Clean (select Cleanup action) the backups older than 1 day and run it weekly on Sunday.
5. Make sure you select the "Do not delete full backups" option.
This way you can configure the scenario you described.
