Google Drive Mirror Backup Creates Duplicates (when zipping each file)

Post by brianshmrian »

When I create a mirror backup to Google Drive with the "zip the files" option enabled, every changed file results in a new file being created instead of overwriting the existing file.

For example, I created files test1.txt, test2.txt, and test3.txt, and backed them up to a Google Drive mirror. This resulted in 3 files in Google Drive: test1.txt.zip, test2.txt.zip, and test3.txt.zip. I then modified test2.txt and did another backup. Now the list of files in the Google Drive folder has 2 separate files both named test2.txt.zip - the old one and the new one.

When I don't use the "zip the files" mirror option, the changed files overwrite the existing ones with the same name. Is there a way to get this overwrite behavior when zipping each file?

Thanks for any info!
