Ghost Opening

Post by goodlaw »

I have a problem where the program opens by itself and hangs with all areas and backup jobs grayed out. The program sits there and prevents regular scheduled programs from starting. If I manually close the "ghost program", then everything works fine until it opens on its own again (every other day or so).

I have used the program for years and this just started happening.

Hi,

Please open Backup Properties->Task Scheduler.
Make sure there is no other scheduler set to start Backup4all.
Delete the extra scheduler you find there.

Also please check in C:\Windows\Tasks for old schedulers.

Thank you for your reply. I have already deleted all schedulers in task scheduler and in C:\Windows\tasks and I am still getting error messages that say "parameter is not a valid backup job"

Hi,

Do you use an administrator account?
Do you have access to all tasks?

Yes I used administrator account and yes i have access to all tasks.

I am getting no where with tech support or forum comments.

I will remove program and put it in the trash where it belongs. I do not have time to debug software.

Hi,

You have an invalid scheduled task. Even if you say it is not there, that task exists.
I offered to connect to your computer and find it for you but you refused.

If you don't trust us to help you with such a problem, you should ask a computer specialist you trust to assist you personally, instead of blaming the support team or the application.
