Error code problem
Where can I get info on what the error codes mean? Is there some document on how to read the logs?
A recent mirror backup of mine resulted in the following error codes and I can't figure out what the problem is:
[12/3/2018 3:30:19 PM] Preparing shadow copy
[12/3/2018 3:30:39 PM] Shadow copy created for drives C:
[12/3/2018 4:03:36 PM] Warning: Skipping file C:\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-24.QDF-backup
Destination error (code 21). The device is not ready. (F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-24.QDF-backup). F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-24.QDF-backup.
[12/3/2018 4:06:13 PM] Warning: Skipping file C:\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-26.QDF-backup
Destination error (code 21). The device is not ready. (F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-26.QDF-backup). F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-26.QDF-backup.
[12/3/2018 4:08:48 PM] Warning: Skipping file C:\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-29.QDF-backup
Destination error (code 23). Data error (cyclic redundancy check). (F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-29.QDF-backup). F:\My Work Backup\My Work\C\My work\Backups\Quicken\John-2018-10-29.QDF-backup.
What does it mean "Device not ready"? And why are the warnings for the Destination? Why is the destination file path repeated twice with each warning?

Re: Error code problem
Hi,
We do not have a table with the error codes as they could be forwarded from different sources / drives / clouds etc.
In this case, please make sure the destination is reachable.
You can send us the complete backup log to support[at]backup4all[dot]com

Re: Error code problem
I can't attach the log file. I get the error "invalid file extension". the extension is .log.

Hi,
Please send us the log file by email. It should accept any file extension.
If the file is too large, please put it into a zip archive.

Re: Error code problem
I tried adding it as a txt file, but again it was rejected. It's only 18 Kb. What's the email address?
