Backup4all burns 46.95gb data into 46.56gb disc.

Post by franky1835 »

Hye, I'm new to Backup4all program. Under trial version now. Currently i'm trying to backup my 6tb hdd data's into Bd50 disc's.
So i found out Backup4all can automated the process. When i try to mirror backup the data's, problem arise when the program tries to burn 46.95gb data into 46.56gb disc.

Tried Both option (SPTD & SPTI) and both giving same error. Below is the log (SPTD).

Hi,

The size information in log is about the size we use on the disc, in order not to fill it, but it can increase to the maximum available space.
The used space is also calculated to allow the backup catalog on the same disc, if necessarily.

I understand you want to back up 6 TB on 120 BD-R dual layer discs.
We do not recommend that, as it's too risky: if one of the 120 discs gets corrupt or something happens in time, the entire backup is compromised.

If you want to set a different split size, please open Backup Properties->Compression page.
Set the split size to “Custom size” and enter the value you want. Example 46.5 GB
Then press Save

Once i select MIRROR and under compression page.
Split option disabled by software and it says "Split (Does not apply to mirror backup type)".
Split only works on other types of backup.

Hi,

You are correct, I did not see the Mirror type was selected.

Hi,

I have the same problem. My log file shows exactly the same message. Backup4ll will burn 23.33 GB on disk having 23.26 GB of free space.
I'm trying to create a mirror backup to blue-ray disks and backup4all tries to write more data than the available disk space. The disk was empty and both burning engines (SPTD & SPTI) do the same.
I'm using the evaluation version, but it seems that the burner has problem.
Is there any workaround for this problem?

Best Regards
John

Hi,

Do you use DVD-R or DVD+R?
Do you have the same problem if you set the split size at 23 GB in Backup Properties->Compression?

Hi,

I'm using BD-RE and BD-R for the tests. There are not BD+R type of disks like DVDs.
The split options are used only for normal backup not for mirror.
