Backup Outlook 2016
How do I backup and restore Outlook 2016 settings and data on windows 10 automatically and manually? Primarily want to save and restore to same computer. However I might want to transfer to a new computer (a Desktop maybe.) Does the outlook plugin support Outlook 2016 ? Can I use Backup4all 5.5 or do I need the latest version? I am also transferring my Outlook 2007 files from my Vista laptop, which I used the Outlook plugin in Backup4all version 4.7.

Hi,
Backup4all works with Outlook 2016.
The backup and restore for Outlook works only if you have:
- the same version of Windows
- the same version of Outlook on both the backup and restore computers
- the same user name

Re: Backup Outlook 2016
Thanks, I will try it.
I still need a way to restore my emails. I can open the PST files from my vista computer (Outlook 2007). But I have emails sorted in subdirectories, with rules that send the incoming messages to the appropriate subdirectories. The Rules have to stay linked to those subdirectories on the new computer with outlook 2016. Any advise?

I have Backup4All 5.5 . Will that backup Outlook 2016? Do I use the plugin that is in 5.5, or should I backup the settings and data manually? Or was your response that backup4all works on Outlook 2016 based on thinking that I had the latest Version ?

Hi,
You can use any version of Backup4all. The backup and restore procedure does not depend on the Backup4all version. Only the other conditions must be accomplished.

Re: Backup Outlook 2016
I had to reinstall my windows 10 operating system because of a bad HP printer software install. I tried to restore the Outlook 2016 from the backup plugin. I believe it did not work. On first starting of Outlook program it comes up with the basic new account wizard. I can't get out of it. Outlook 2016 closes, when I try to cancel. I have Office 2016 Professional on a Windows 10 Professional HP laptop. I used Backup4all Pro Version 5.5, as I stated earlier.

Re: Backup Outlook 2016
Most of the files did restore from the backup to the original directories, minus the 2nd PST file I had attached to my email account. How ever I cannot get through an account setup screen to see if the account settings and rules were restored.
I forgot to mention in my last reply that I chose to Overwrite any files that existed when I tried to restore data. Only the one PST file from the Outlook folder was restored, even though there was 2 pst files attached to the original account. I backed up and restored from and to my windows 10 laptop.
