Anybody tested their BluRay media to check if its READABLE ??

Post by julian »

Anybody out there that uses a LG BH10LS30 Internal Bluray writer with B4All ?
Did you test to see if the media can be opened with Windows explorer to access the .zip file ?

None of the B4All backup jobs that was written with the LG BH10LS30 Internal Bluray writers's disks/media can be accessed with windows explorer.

This is on Win7 / XPsp3 / Server2003 R2 sp2 / Server 2003 std Sp1 machines.

They all give the error when trying to explore the disk
"Windows can't read from the disk, the disk might be corrupted or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows"
This occurs on 5 different sites all with the same LG writer LG BH10LS30.

If i load other software that can backup to Bluray the same media is browseable.

How do you explain that ?

Hi,

In Tools->Options->CD, DVD or Blu-ray, is the SPTD or SPTI burner selected?
Have you tried to install the new firmware for that device?

Yes i did switch between the SPTD and SPTI burner engines.
I also upgraded to the latest firmware from LG's website which is version 1.01.

Other backup software works fine on the same machine , even using DVD-RW and CD-RW media i can still browse the media contents without even ejecting the disk after the backup.

But when backing up to Bluray (Job finishes without errors or warnings) the media is not browseable ..

Hi,

1. Can you browse the disc after ejecting and reloading it?
2. Do you have the same problem if you try to browse the disc on another computer?
