Re: Rotating destinations

Hi, Rick the regular I'm sorry to tell you but your indications are not good in this case. What you explained is not a rotation scheme, but a new backup job to be configured each week. Re: Mirror Backup - Missing files not updated

Hi,

The backup destination must be in a different place than your work files, where you do not just edit the files by mistake.

Hi,

That seems to be a problem on the Sony VAIO computer. Is the external drive recognized on that computer?

Re: Update the cataloge

Hi,

That is not possible. In order to ensure the backup consistency, we cannot consider any file in destination as being healthy (not corrupted, or invalid), so the files must be copied in destination by Backup4all.

Re: Mirror backup to swapable hard disks

Hi,

In Backup Properties->Advanced, uncheck the "Use local catalogs" option.

Read this article about how the rotation scheme works: http://www.backup4all.com/kb/how-to-bac ... e-259.html

Re: Catalogue Rebuild

Hi,

The backup catalog is stored in two places: in the local catalog folder and in destination, near the zip.
The catalog cannot be recreated from the zip file, but being stored in destination near zip should be fine as they will be in the same place.

Re: How to merge backups?

Hi,

We have a Wishlist on our internal system. That is where I posted it.
You can create a post in the Wishlist section of the forum, if you want.

Re: merge bkps

Hi,

You cannot do the backups as you described.
The full backup cannot be merged with another incremental. There would be a complete mess.
The Incremental backups are based on the Full backup.
