Hi,

Can you please send us the backup log and the .bkc catalog file for that job? (send it to support[at]backup4all[dot]com)

Re: Could not start Backup for job

Hi,

The log you sent us seems to be the application log, but we need the log for the backup job you executed.

Re: Error: The compressed (zipped) folder (path) 1_Czip' is invalid

Hi,

The zip component from Windows cannot handle large zip files (you have 79-90 GB). Please use WinZip or 7zip if you want to open such files outside Backup4all.
If you want, you can run a restore of that backup to another location using Backup4all and see the files will be correctly restored.

Re: Using the same file name for backups

Hi, If you use the Full backup type and want to have every time the backup with the same name (example 1_D.zip), you will have to open Backup Properties, then go to Advanced page and select the "Run program or action" in the "Run action before backup" section. Make sure that <Clear backup> is select...

Re: Possible pitfalls using FAST MIRROR

Hi, For Mirror backup type, there is no need to run a complete backup from time to time. Let me explain why: there are no file versions (for Mirror type). Any modified source file will overwrite the existing file version in destination. If you want, you can run a repair backup from time to time. Tha...

Re: UAC prevented settings SE_BACKUP_NAME privilege

Hi,

That is not a warning or error, it is just an informal message about the "Smart file scanning mode" option which could not be used. Normal source file detection mode was used.

Re: Stop vs cancel

Hi, When the Cancel button is pressed, the action in progress (backup, restore, cleanup) will be aborted immediately. When the Stop button is pressed, Backup4all will finish processing the current file in progress, then the catalog will be saved and only after that the backup will stop. Next time yo...

Re: Backup error

Hi,

Do you use an USB connected drive as backup destination?
If yes, please make sure you use the Safely Remove Hardware tool before unplugging the USB drive.
At this moment, please run a scandrive for errors on the USB drive, then try again to run the backup.

Re: Possible pitfalls using FAST MIRROR

Hi,

Yes, that is correct. Backup4all won't monitor the destination all the time, to track any change made outside Backup4all.
It is supposed you won't manually alter the backup in destination.
