Based on this reply from Support, bTray.exe is used "for fast access."

Since I don't need fast access to Backup4All, I removed the startup entry from the Windows registry. Problem solved.

In Backup4All 5, what does the "Taskbar notifier" [bTray.exe] do, and does it need to load at Windows startup?

I figured it out! Backup4All can't be upgraded. That's why there aren't any instructions for this in the knowledgebase. I guess the developers haven't figured out how to upgrade software? You have to install Backup4All 5 separately, then import your backup jobs from Backup4All 4 into Backup4All 5. T...

What is the recommended procedure to upgrade from Backup4All Professional 4 to Backup4All Professional 5 on Windows? Surprisingly, this information is not included in Backup4All's own knowledgebase.

Still Being Actively Developed?

In the last year there has been only one update to Backup4All, and that was only to add an additional encryption method.

Is Backup4All still being actively developed? Will there be a version 5?
