Re: Can I merge backups?

Hi,

You can set a limit for the number of backup versions in Backup Properties->Type->Storage page.
On the same page, you can select the "Merge backups" option.
When you run again the backup, the old backup versions to be deleted will be merged.

Re: Error installing and uninstalling

Hi,

Please send us the Backup4all installation log file from "C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\"
Do you have the same problem if you first download the setup from our website and then install it?

Re: Restoring schedules not backed up using program

Hi,

The scheduled tasks are located in Tasks Scheduler, under Control Panel. See if you can find them in C:\Windows\Tasks.

Re: Does b4a do "real time" syncing?

Hi,

You are correct, that is a syncing feature. Backup4all is a backup application, it does not make a real-time mirroring, but you can schedule it to run every few minutes.

Re: Destination has existing files but no b4a catalog

Hi,

Backup4all does not scan the destination folder to identify the existing files.
It uses the backup catalog to determine which files were backed up. In this case, Backup4all will copy all files to destination, over the existing ones.

Re: Trouble creating a working differential backup

Hi, In order for such a scenario to work, the backups on each drive should be independent. Otherwise, when Backup4all will try to delete all previous backup, some of them will be located on the disconnected drive and they won’t be deleted again, filling the drive. That is why you have to uncheck the...

Hi, Please delete that backup job from Backup4all, then open the .bkc catalog file from the backup destination, to recreate the backup job in Backup4all. Run again the backup and see if you still have the problem. If you still have the problem, send us the .bkc catalog file for that job, from the ba...

Hi,

Versions 1.x, 2.x, 3.x and 4.x of Backup4all are no longer supported. To benefit from support and the added functionality we highly recommend upgrading to the latest version.
