Re: What can I expect from running Cleanup job?

Hi,

They will be backed up when you run the backup.
Please note the deletion has to be done in Backup4all, not manually in destination.

Re: B4A backs up tens of thousands of empty folders :-(

Hi, I'm glad you understand our suggestion and its meaning. No other users complained about the file dates filter. Date modified > one week ago means Backup4all will back up all files newer than one week ago. In order to understand these notations, I suggest you to imagine the axis time. It goes fro...

Re: Previous versions not being deleted

Hi,

Please read this article about how to use the backup rotation scheme: https://www.backup4all.com/how-to-backup-...-kb.html
In your case you forgot to uncheck the "Use local catalogs" option from Backup Properties->Advanced page.

Re: B4A backs up tens of thousands of empty folders :-(

Hi, We are just trying to help you configure the backup as it is best for you. It's your decision if you accept our advice or you continue doing your way. The section of the help file you mentioned does not apply for you. If 47 MB means a large file for you and "in time" means 2-3 days then you shou...

Re: B4A backs up tens of thousands of empty folders :-(

Hi, It seems you do not understand what I'm trying to explain you. I'll try to rephrase it in some short sentences. 1. The wrong way you configured the backup is that you perform a full backup if all your incremental backups have more than 24 MB. There are only 2-3 modified files backed up two times...

Re: B4A backs up tens of thousands of empty folders :-(

Hi, 1. Many clients wants to back up their empty folders. At this moment there isn't such an option to exclude the empty folders from backup. 2. Unchecking that option will not perform a complete full backup every few backups but only when you ask it to create a full. That way, when you run the back...

Re: B4A backs up tens of thousands of empty folders :-(

Hi, You have 473 backup versions (87 of them are full backups). The number of folders in backup is 2171 not tens of thousands. As I assumed in the previous post, the empty folders are backed up only when you perform a full backup. The full backup is performed when the incremental backups since the l...

Re: Access violation error preventing opening of Backup4all

Hi,

What is the user account type you use? (Craig account).
Do you have the same problem if using a different normal account?
