Thank you. I will give the backup run another shot.
(I just purchased the software yesterday afternoon)

Re: Filtering problem
Thanks. So if I understand this correctly, using something like
*\biztons*\*
i.e. omitting the local characters, would yield a case insensitive match for anything like Biztons.. or bIzToNs... etc?

Backup is empty or the catalogue file is not available
Hello, I tried pressing Pause and Stop but neither of these buttons worked. I pressed Cancel then. And now, while I have 670 megabytes of data in my backup folder, the restore button says that the Backup is empty or the catalogue file is not available. There are two errors in my log towards the end:...

Filtering problem
Hello, I am trying to filter folders but It seems it doesn't work. I need case-insensitive filters, so that BAK and Bak would be the same etc. I have the following exclude entry in my Bakup4All filter [words are in Hungarian but it doesn't really matter I suppose]: Folder name = '*\#recycle\*|*\NE H...

Smart backup appears to be not smart at all
Hi, I am trying to back up data from a remote Synology to a local Lenovo IX2. I always do the backup runs overnight so that my computer and the NAS device can be used for normal business during the day. The backup was set to smart because I had thought I was a good idea. I have about 350 gigabytes o...

Re: large # of files, extremely slow to start backup
I have switched internet service providers. Now tcopying 2.5 gigabytes in my setup took about 15 minutes, so it is about 6-7 minutes to copy a gigabyte. This would be about 80-100 gigabytes during an overnight session, which is good for me. The bigger problem is that I have about 180 gigabytes alrea...

Re: large # of files, extremely slow to start backup
Thank you for the response. I have just checked and apparently the internet connection is the culprit because it took about 1 hour to copy one gigabyte (in 1000 files). While this is still twice as much as I quoted in my initial post, I also recall that during the first night 100 gigabytes were back...

Re: large # of files, extremely slow to start backup
I am having the same problem. Today it has been 7 hours now that the backup is active and only backed up 3.5 gigabytes (this is not the initial run, but I still have hundreds of gigabytes to back up). The internet connection, the source and the target destinations seem to work fine otherwise. This i...
