Old Incremental Backups With No Job Identity
Have a number of B4A backups that were made several years ago, on different machines, for which there are no current job identifiers in the currently installed copies of B4A that I license. Some of these backups were made as "full" and so generate zip files which can be opened and extracte...

Restore's Source Not What Was Expected
Running Backup4All v 7.4 in a Windows 10 environment. I have a backup job whose source is on a directory on my C drive and is targeted to backup to optical disks. I ran backup on my target directory and all finished cleanly after the test was done, creating 16 disks for a 102 gb backup. (I'll never ...

Files and Folders Skipped
I have four backup jobs all of which failed for the same reason: "All the files and folders have been skipped. Nothing to backup." All machines are Windows 7. I run Backup4All, version 5.x, from a Windows7Pro x64 box. I can successfully run a backup job which backups up files to the same m...

Slow Operation on XP
Still running XP at least until April 2014. The performance of version 5 is significantly slower than that of version 4. The machine is a Pentium 4 w/4 gb RAM. Operation slowness when doing almost any task, including backup. Would appreciate any tips that might speed things up. Have been relying on ...

Re: How Long for Abort to Finish?
I almost never backup to HD so I don't have metrics on this problem under that condition. I did though, today, try this backup to HD and it worked fine, including the test phase.

Re: Disk Testing Stall Message
Sorry to report that my cancel ran for over an hour and 20 minutes and I wound up having to use the Task Manager to shut B4A down. It didn't generate a bug report and that's not the first time it has happened.

How Long for Abort to Finish?
From time-to-time I have had to abort a backup or backup test. Usually the abort finishes quickly but sometimes it goes forever and never finishes, leaving me to have to shut down B4A. What would be considered an average time to complete an abort from the time I press the Cancel button? If it matter...

Disk Testing Stall Message
On occasion when testing an optical disk after backup is finished, the test process will stall. Currently the only way to know that this has happened is to watch the progress bar and see if the file [directory and filename]that is displayed next to the progress bar has advanced, or not. Right now I'...

Multi DVD Erase
I have a 2 dvd backup which I run weekly and rotate over a month. (2 disks a week for 4 weeks and then start from the beginning again). The dvds are DVD+RWs. I have set the "Erase disk" checkbox on for this backup's properties. For the first disk B4All correctly asks whether I want to eras...

Restore Not Found
I have a set of disks [5] created with B4All which I need to restore. When I use the Restore wizard, this particular Backup is not found. I believe that the reason for this is that I created the Backup on another machine before I moved B4All to its current location on a different machine. How can I ...
