Properly Upgrade

Post by Pelican »

In the next version please can we have a proper upgrade rather than an untested new application. (v5 to v6).
The import from v5 function is broken, fails to import settings from v5 to v6.
Settings files files are now corrupt so I now have 6 months of backups I cannot restore from using your software.

Hi,

The upgrade from version 5 to version 6 works fine, also the import can be made successfully. We have many users importing the jobs and settings with no problems.

In order to analyze your case, please send us the entire application folder from appdata.

You can also open in Backup4all 6 the .bkc catalog files from the backup destination. The backup jobs will be recreated in Backup4all 6 so you can run the restore and continue the backups.

Nope, can't agree that there's nothing wrong with the upgrade.
I had problems too. I had a number of backup jobs that I have to recreate in v6.
And I just deleted the schedules from my Windows task scheduler to start from scratch rather than trying to pull pieces together - easy enough for just a few jobs, but when you have more than that, it's not that simple.
Very unhappy with how un-smooth the upgrade went.

@steven127:
I'm sorry to hear about your experience during the upgrade.
Can you tell us the error message you received during the upgrade?
