Lighter and faster launch

Post by Remork »

Hi,

When I use my OTB button on my external HDD :
- it takes a dozen of seconds...
- ... then the window of B4all appears (even if I set "Show Nothing" in option)
- ...it takes a ten of seconds again before seing something moving in the window and the backup starts
- ... a few seconds later the backup is finished (I've tested with a directory containing 3 empty text files, and I think the backup takes too long for such files)

Can you make a lighter and faster process? Actually its seems like your software is made with Java and is sooooo heaaaaaavyyy.... that it taaaaaakes..... minuuuuuuuutes to staaaaaaaart

Seriously and old version of B4A I have is way faster than your last release. It's a pain to have a window poping and freezing a bit when we want something hidden and immediate.

Hi,

We don't have such problems here.
Please send us the last backup log for that job from View->Job Logs->Last backup log, to support[at]backup4all[dot]com.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Ok the log is downloadable here : http://www.mediafire.com/?akmg2vpz34ky2gb

I think the problem comes from the Archive Bit : if you set "Reset the Archive Bit", it increases backup time dramatically.
But I keep thinking that the interface of B4all is heavier that previous releases. I takes a few seconds before anything starts.
