Hello,

im curretnly testing your tool and im finding it great

There is only one thing that i havent figured out yet..

How can i set up b4a to make a full backup every xxx incremental backups, I know there is this option in Acronis (which im trying to get rid of and replace through b4a)

Hi,

There isn't such an option in Backup4all. Can you tell us the entire scenario you want to use so we can help you configure the backup?
Do you want to run the backup manually or scheduled? How often? How many backup versions do you want to keep in destination?

I want to make an incremental backup of folder at a certain time every day (that works perfectly), but I want that every 7 days a full backup of this folder is made.

On my FTP where everything is uploaded it should look like this after 7 Days

full backup
incremental day 1
incremental day 2
incremental day 3
incremental day 4
incremental day 5
incremental day 6
full backup
incremental day 1
incremental day 2
incremental day 3
incremental day 4
incremental day 5
incremental day 6

the files before the last full backup should be deleted

Hi,

That is possible in Backup4all.

Please follow these steps to configure the backup that way.
1. After you created the backup job, please open Backup Properties->Type.
2. Make sure the selected type is Incremental.
3. In "Save storage space" section, select "Yes, limit number of backups" to 7. Uncheck the "Merge backups" option.
4. Go to Scheduler page in Backup Properties.
5. Press Add, press Set password, type your Windows login password and press OK.
6. From the "Schedule Task" list, select "Weekly". Check all days from "Mon" to "Sat" and set a start time. Press OK.
7. Press again Add, press Set password, type your Windows login password.
8. In "Action" section, from Type list, select Full and press OK.
9. From the "Schedule Task" list, select "Weekly". Check "Sun" and set a start time. Press OK.
10. Press Save.

Please note the first execution of a backup is always a full.

Can someone please explain exactly how merge backups works? And why it should be off on the above scenario....

In this case, that option should be disabled in order for Backup4all to delete the older backups, not to merge them with the new ones. That will speed up the process.
