Re: Backup error

Hi,

Do you use an USB connected drive as backup destination?
If yes, please make sure you use the Safely Remove Hardware tool before unplugging the USB drive.
At this moment, please run a scandrive for errors on the USB drive, then try again to run the backup.

Re: Possible pitfalls using FAST MIRROR

Hi,

Yes, that is correct. Backup4all won't monitor the destination all the time, to track any change made outside Backup4all.
It is supposed you won't manually alter the backup in destination.

Re: CRC test failed

Hi,

In your case, it is possible that the 4 files could not be read correctly from sources when calculating the CRC, but they were correctly copied in destination.
When you ran again the backup, those files were backed up again, correctly.

Re: Possible pitfalls using FAST MIRROR

Hi,

If you want to also remove from destination the files deleted from sources, you need to select the "Remove excluded or deleted files" option from Backup Properties->Type->Mirror.

Re: Possible pitfalls using FAST MIRROR

Hi,

There should be no problems. The Fast Mirror will back up only new and modified files from sources. That will result in a faster backup.

Re: Upgrade to 7.1 loses all prior jobs

Hi, The jobs from version 7.0 should have been preserved. That is a minor upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1. Were you using the Backup4all settings for Current user or for All users? Did that changed? In your case, now you can open in Backup4all the .bkc catalog files from the backup destination. That will re...

@travgonz

If you go to Services, is the Backup4all service started and running?

Re: Change email Subject

Hi, That is not an overall solution. Backup4all uses its default template messages which you cannot edit. But you have in the Backup4all installation folder a template to edit for each type of action: backup, restore, test, clean. You can create as many templates as you want and each template will b...

Re: BU4All Pro v7 Trial version will not terminate

Hi,

Have you checked which process of Backup4all was running in Task Manager?
Do you have the same problem if you restart Backup4all?
